There are several terminology and classification consensuses that have been published in the recent years (O’Donoghue, Ryan, Takebayashi, Peetrons, Stoller, Chang, Munich and Pollock). Initially, classifications were based on clinical signs or imaging, but more recent classifications are based on the combination of the two. Leading experts in the field of muscle injuries have developed a consensus statement in which muscle injuries are divided into two groups: functional muscle disorders and structural muscle injuries.

While there are many diagnostic devices available for providing relevant information about structural damage in the muscle, there are not many objective diagnostic systems that can evaluate functional muscle disorders. We believe that TMG as the leading methodology for objective evaluation of functional muscle disorders, proven by more than 50 football clubs worldwide, enables precise diagnostics of functional muscle disorders and monitoring of their rehabilitation.
