There are many natural muscle imbalances in the human body, which may lead to injuries. The good news is that most of these injuries can be prevented with the right diagnostics and exercises that can reduce such imbalances. Such intervention is more widely known as pre-habilitation and originates from the preparation of patients for the inactivity associated with post-surgical procedures. However, nowadays many physical therapists and athletic trainers are using prehab as part of a daily program to help prevent nagging injuries as well as the larger ones that require surgery.

For successful prehab, relevant and detailed information about muscle balance must be available and Tensiomyography (TMG) is a most suitable methodology for diagnosing muscle imbalance. TMG is a scientifically validated method substantiated by more than 50 independent studies and it provides relevant information about muscle contractile properties in an objective, selective and non-invasive way. It gives insights into: muscle composition, muscle functional characteristics, local muscle fatigue, atrophy, muscle inhibition, spasticity and tonus. High repeatability enables long term monitoring of acute and chronic changes in muscle function.

Visit us at 16th Annual Scientific Meeting in Sport & Exercise organized in association with the European College of Sport & Exercise Physicians that will be held on 4th of September at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. There we will be presenting medical applications of Tensiomyography and TMG 100 System.
