Members of The University of Vigo (Spain) have- together with the Galician Sports Performance Center, Spanish Canoe Federation- created an article that addresses the neuromuscular profile of top level women kayakers assessed with tensiomyography. The article published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research assess the contractile properties and the lateral symmetry percentages of a variety of muscles of top level women kayakers and determine the gender influence and the specific training in the assessed parameters. In order to conduct long-term studies related to muscle contraction, it is essential to use a highly repeatable methodology which enables fast and objective measurements. Unfortunately, there are not many methods that meet all of the mentioned criteria, which makes long-term monitoring of muscle contraction a demanding process and limits the research possibilities.

On the other side, tensiomyography and a tensiomyography based TMG S1 system provide an effective solution for long-term monitoring of muscle contraction. With the scientifically validated repeatability above 95 %, fast measurement execution and selectivity, researchers now have the flexibility to perform a variety of research in the field of muscle contraction, which have not been possible before, or make the existing research work easier.
