In cooperation with our German distributor, Gießen University has conducted a research study on the comparison of fatigue caused by the use of welding equipment with tensiomyography. The study revealed very valuable information on muscle fatigue caused by the execution of work tasks and represents an important milestone in the application of TMG in the field of occupational medicine.

Recently published article in International journal of sports physiology and performance investigates the effects of an uphill-marathon on running mechanics and neuromuscular fatigue in lower limb muscles. The research focused on the determination of maximal mechanical power of lower limbs (MMP), temporal tensiomyography (TMG) parameters and muscle belly displacement (Dm) in the vastus lateralis muscle before and after the competition in eighteen runners. The research revealed that TMG temporal-parameters decreased in all runners (-27.35±18.0%,p<0.001), while Dm increased (+24.0±35.0%,p:0.005), showing lower muscle stiffness and higher muscle sensibility to the electrical stimulus. The article concludes that greater MMP was related with smaller changes in running biomechanics induced by fatigue. Thus, lower limb power training could improve running performance in uphill-marathons. You can read more here.

We will hold a workshop with the title “Applications of TMG” at the 22. Sportwissenschaftlichen Hochschultags conference, organized by the German Society of Sports Science (DVS). DVS with more than 1000 members will dedicate this year’s conference to the topic “moving minds – crossing boundaries in sports science”. The conference, which will be held from 28.9. till 2.10.2015 at Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz in Germany, will feature presentations by renowned speakers from all over the world as well as workshops, among which also TMG’s will take place . The TMG workshop on the 29th of September will host some of the best experts in the field of tensiomyography as well as upcoming researches , who will present the results of their research work in which TMG has been used. You can find more information on conference’s website or on the leaflet about our workshop. As there are only a couple of free spots left, we kindly ask you to make a reservation ASAP by contacting our representative Carsten Effertz on carsten.effertz@tmg.si or +49 (0)176 83144767.

In cooperation with our Polish distributor Matmarco Sp. z o.o ., we have attended the 23rd International Rehabilitation Equipment Exhibition “REHABILITACJA ” that was held in Łódź, Poland. The organizers traditionally grant awards for most promising and innovative products presented at the fair and this year our TMG S1 system won in the category of most innovative products for rehabilitation.

Brazilian elite soccer players have been measured by TMG in order to investigate the association between tensiomyography parameters (from rectus and biceps femoris) and jumping and sprinting abilities in elite soccer players. The results of the study suggest that tensiomyography parameters are not associated with power-related motor tasks performance in elite soccer players. You can read the full article here.

A renowned hospital, training facility and FIFA medical centre of excellence – Acibadem Sports will apply the TMG S1 system to their sports medicine practice in order to optimize the effectiveness of their surgeries and postoperative rehabilitation. Cooperation with an eminent client such as Acibadem will also help us to increase our recognition in Turkey as well as in the wider region.
