Our CEO and Channel Sales Manager have returned from Japan where they have attended the EU Gateway program. During their stay in Japan they have managed to meet potential distributers and suppliers for our products as well as research partners. Japan is an amazing country and where we see big potential for the future of our company.

In muscle diagnostics, TMG100 tensiomyography has been found by many experts to be complementary to other diagnostic methods such as MRI, diagnostic ultrasound and isokinetic testing. In more clinical settings experts are now using TMG100 tensiomyography to monitor the instant effects of therapy on muscle function in terms of activation and local fatigue levels, in order to determine precise and safe rehab training loads. One such example is the complementary use of TMG100 tensiomyography and anti-gravity treadmills. The latter are increasingly used in state-of-the-art rehab centers and are applied in orthopedic and neurologic rehab, sports performance, geriatric and bariatric therapy. The ability to lower the load of ones body weight offers the advantage of being able to train longer, safer and increase motor learning efficiency. However therapists still require precise and immediate information on how exercise is affecting muscle function in order to determine the most appropriate volume and intensity of exercise, which includes number of sets, repetitions and cycling training schedules, to ensure efficient and effective therapy. TMG100 tensiomyography’s ability to accurately and quickly monitor local muscle fatigue in specific muscles in the lower extremeties assists therapists in determining the exact dose of exercise which remains effective. Knowing how specific muscles functionally react to the anti-gravity treadmill training helps determine the optimal length of training, speed or intensity and amount of body weight that can be allowed for safe and effective rehab training.

We have published new application note about the local muscle fatigue.

Local muscle fatigue (LMF) is the concept that helps the understanding of what occurs within the muscles during a loading. It essentially sets the boundary between differing functional states of the muscles. Therefore, determining the degree of LMF may be a universally applied process.

Our senior consultant Sergej has returned from the USA where he installed TMG 100 Sytem at the elite Athletes Performance Centre in Phoenix and made user training.

Athletes’ Performance is an American company that provides integrated performance services for the top athletes in the world. It has private training facilities in Phoenix, Arizona and Frisco, Texas, California; and at the Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze, Florida.

TMG 100 Sytem will be used to customize training and rehabilitation programs, detect onset of local muscle fatigue as well as Lateral and Functional weaknesses, prevent injury or re-injury and therefore improve performance.

In the last year alone, Athletes’ Performance has trained 8 NFL first-round picks, 9 NBA first-round picks, World Cup heroes (US Women’s Soccer and German Men’s Soccer), and hosts of All-Stars across every major sport. Four members of the Boston Red Sox have spent part of their off season time at Athletes’ Performance. You can find more about Athletes’ Performance on their website.

Benelux TMG100 representatives, Orthomedico planned several TMG100 tensiomyography introduction workshops in Antwerpen, Belgium. There was interest from many leading sports organizations, including the Dutch Judo Federation, and several private medical and physiotherapy practices. Workshops and demonstrations led to very interesting debates with many recognizing that TMG100 can add value to clinical practice and top sports training, through the ability to aid in injury prevention, provide more information during medical and physiotherapy screenings and assist in being able to adapt training to specific needs.

Autumn is close and is the perfect time to start preparations for the winter sports season. A precisely targeted and monitored training program for thigh musculature is essential to ensure knee stability and prevent serious knee injury in many winter sports. TMG100 tensiomyography is the perfect tool to assess muscle contraction properties of muscles essential to knee stability. In a matter of minutes muscle functional symmetry around the patella and the knee flexor-extensor complex are precisely determined and quantified. When muscle function deviates from reference values, specific exercise modalities are recommended in the automated report, making it easy to communicate to patients and develop a personalized training program. Progress can be easily monitored in follow up TMG100 assessments so that injury prevention training can be fine-tuned. Fast, simple and easy, TMG100 assessments are ideal to offer quick but valuable screening to prevent knee injury.

Our CEO Jure Jemec and CTO Srdjan Djordjevič visited World athletics 2013 in Moscow to demonstrate use of TMG100 system to some of the interested clients and to support some of the athletes and coaches. Main focus was on speed development, fatigue management and training optimisation.

A TMG100 premiering workshop will be held in Bangalore on Sunday 22nd September, 2013. It will introduce the science behind tensiomyography, explain the value in muscle diagnostics, training and rehab monitoring through case studies and will cover the TMG100 measurement protocol in a live demonstration session with TMG-BMC senior consultant, Stef Harley. The event is part of TMG100 tensiomyography’s launch on the Indian market by Fit and Spa Solutions and is hosted by the RECOUP Neuro Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation Centre in Bangalore. Attendance is free of charge. Anyone interested in attending should contact Fit and Spa Solutions at info@fitandspasolutions.com
